Updates and Visit

Time to update you on our renovations--the addition is mostly done--just some touch up work to do and filling in a few pieces--but we have been in for a few weeks now.

Still haven't found the rugs I want for the floor in the Master, but taking my time.  LOVE LOVE LOVE my new office where I can work on my crafty stuff without having to make a mess all over the living room anymore.   And it is SUPER organized just like I like it--I can finally FIND things now, imagine that!

We cleaned up a bit a got MOST of the clutter out of the way for a short visit from Adam, Drena, Oliver and Eleanor, so thought I'd take a few pics while it was presentable--for that won't last long as next project is the library!

We had so much fun seeing all of them--very sweet, thoughtful, fun, and polite grandchildren.  Whenever we went in the car, I sat in the back with Oliver, and Eleanor would peek around at me every once in a while and say: "Are you okay back there?"  And Oliver let me get away with mucking up the rules in the game with a "That's okay.  You can do that if you want to."  They were so sweet.

So here are the newest updates to the house as it is now:

Vaulted wood ceiling in Master--this room feels so much more roomy than this photos show.  Ray built all of the stuff in the addition himself with no help and it's 30 feet in the air.  Feel like I am in a treehouse when in this part of the house--LOVE it!

Craft space in my office:

my desk by the big window so I can be nosey, as I naturally am:

may have already put these up, but this is my bathroom:

and my laundry is now INSIDE!!!  You have no idea how much this has changed my life!!  And Ray has raised the dryer up so that getting clothes in and out doesn't kill our backs.

This is our NOW dining area, but the present plana is to turn this into a dining booth area.  And all of our MANY bookshelves and boxes of stored books will go onto floor to ceiling shelves in the new library (which was the old master bedroom).  Still pushing for that library ladder.

Living room--the tiny electric heater will be replaced with a gas or electric insert:

The foyer area--may do narrower built-in shelves here or do away with altogether:

looking from screened porch to deck:

Screened porch that will be widened and turn into our TV room with comfy side by side recliners where I can also write during the day:

Deck will be totally repainted:

Shhh--this is where I have to whisper so Ray doesn't hear of my future hopeful plans--want to SO badly replace these old cabinets or at least reface them.  Thinking white cabinets and black countertop???

Bar area which we thought of getting rid of but we like it and it is perfect for my little lighthouses and butter dish collection:

Built in shelves that Ray did for some of my china/crystal:

One shot of the snows from weeks ago with the sunset:

AND our visitors of late--Mr. & Mrs. Goose, who choose to arrive honking every morning at 7:30 am and leave honking every evening at 7:45 pm.  The rest of the day, they stand STARING at my house!!!  Can be very disconcerting at times.  But I love watching them, too, so I guess it's only fair.

And now for some bubble entertainment by Eleanor:

This one makes me think of Eleanor acting the part of a ball girl in a tennis match--she'd run back to me between bubbles and lie on her tummy to wait for the next ones, then she'd pop up to go catch them:

Intense game-playing with Adam, Oliver, and Pepe (or as Eleanor calls him--Granpoppy):
