Another two days of relaxing at sea. Last night at dinner was another formal night so we got all dressed up. We even got compliments on our appearance tonight. Our table neighbors, Bob & Betty from Santa Cruz, brought a bottle of champagne to share with us. It was delicious. It’s been fun talking with them every night.
I watched Benny & Joon on TV yesterday—a great movie even though I’ve seen it countless times. Last night was also Laundry night, so Ray is busy doing a load of clothes for us.
I found out these interesting facts today about the food preparation on the ship. In ONE day on this cruise, over 3000 eggs and 5800 pieces of fruit are consumed, 2000 pounds of potatoes are peeled and prepared, and 13000 tomato slices are served. The bakers and pastry chefs turn out 1820 pounds of bread, 5000 cookies, 3900 muffins, and 6500 canapes daily. By sunset, 13000 dishes need washing!
Today was a lazy day—I think I napped and read all day long! We had cute little cream puff pastry swans for dessert. Watching “Letters to Juliet” then off to an early bedtime in preparation for a very early shore excursion from Cobh, Ireland, in the morning.
