Friday, June 26--Catching Up in Glasgow

Hard to get to sleep last night with the lights, and the highway noise, and the heat, but while I was out today, Ray performed a miracle and changed our room to a much quieter one with a breeze and no lights from the apartments across the street. So tonight should be much better.

We had a fantastic breakfast AT MORRISON’S this morning. I absolutely love their scrambled eggs on toast with a jam doughnut. I could have it every morning. We bought some groceries then went in search of the laundrette. I think I have finally found the reason for roundabouts—it’s for those of us who get lost all the time and make wrong turns. Roundabouts make it easy to correct.

I went to the mall to have my hair cut and get it straightened, so I am a much happier person now. And we had dinner at KFC which made Ray VERY happy. For dessert we went to Baskin Robbins, and I saw a picture of a milkshake that looked thick and yummy. Unfortunately when it was handed to me, it was as watery as milk. I saw her put in 3 scoops of cookies and cream ice cream, so I don’t know what happened. Guess this is just the way the shakes are over here. I need to accept it and move on.

Right next to our hotel is a place called Xscape that has an amusement park ride, dodge cars, ski slope with real snow, bowling alley, climbing wall, movie theatre, golf course, soccer circus, laser station, 7 shops, and 15 restaurants—all in one place—INSIDE!! It was really cool.

We went back to the room to finally reorganize our luggage and to plan our adventures for tomorrow.
