It's Official--We Are Now Vagabonds!

The dictionary describes a wanderer as someone who leads an unsettled life, moving about at no set pace & without a definite destination or purpose. So I suppose we can now be classified as wanderers. Although we do have a purpose—to see as much of the world as we can. As of two days ago, we are no longer home-owners. We closed on the house in Peachtree City and are now officially Floridians with plans to head back to Europe at some point, go camping in the Northeast, and spend some time exploring Washington State and British Columbia.

Benefits of this new status:
a) one hour closer to DisneyWorld
b) apartment set up to be much more zen with less clutter, so easier to take care of
c) this is a “no-income tax on retirement pay” state, so that is a big savings for us
d) more flexibility since there are no pools & house maintenance for which we are
responsible, thereby making travel much easier
e) there is almost always a breeze blowing here the beach is only 5 minutes away
f) the beach is only 5 minutes away
g) and I just love knowing the beach is so close

Disadvantages:
a) still in the minority here as far as politics go
b) since this is a “no-tax” state, the government has to find ways of making revenue, so,
for example, registering our car today, we incurred a fee of $515

So we are settling in and enjoying the cooler weather that the cold front brought to Florida this week. Our windows are open and a gentle breeze is blowing. Aaaaahhhh.

Pictures are from our walk on the beach at sunset this evening--notice the dragonflies in the first picture. There were hundreds of them!
