You know, it just amazes me sometimes when I think about the things I don’t notice then suddenly realize they are there. Like this huge Chavez poster that hangs in the stairway of our apartment here in Edinburgh. We have been here for 3 days, and I have walked around and noticed what I thought were all the paintings on the walls—and there are a lot—but I never noticed this one until just now walking down the stairs! And it is the biggest and LOUDEST one here. Very colorful. And there are two Cuba travel posters beside it that I never saw either. Maybe I do have a house elf and he is switching out my artwork every night. Hmmmm……
We were talking this morning and I think that staying in several different types of houses this summer has helped us decide what we do and don’t want when we buy a house. Looking forward to house shopping when we get back.
Went shopping at Morrison’s and T. K. Maxx—no, that’s not a typo. It really is K not J over here. Anyway, as we are passing in front of Holyrood Palace on the way home, there is a lot of commotion going on and police all around and the gate was open—I think the Queen may be about to leave the building, as they say. So cool!
The sunny weather has left us and we are dealing with the typical overcast Edinburgh, which is fine with me. Just hope the rain holds off. So with the weather change, we have decided to do some housekeeping. First of all, Ray has noted that all Scottish adults must be impervious to dust because every place we stay that isn’t a hotel is covered with it except for the Ferry Cottage. Do they just not notice it? Are none of them allergic to it? We can’t figure it out. So today, Ray vacuumed everything thoroughly including the beds, bought mattress protectors, and washed all the bedding.
