I love snow, but.....

I love to see the new snow falling and look outside after everything is
painted in white, but our first snow last week was really a thick layer of ice with 6 inches of snow over that.  And THAT wasn't even gone away when we got another 10 inches of snow!  That's 16 inches in one week, guys.

And I love how cozy it makes the house and how it amazes me every time I walk past a window, but I DO NOT like to be ice-bound.  Once our long driveway and the roads are impassable, I get so antsy.  I think it must be a form of claustrophobia.  It's not like I had any plans or anything, nowhere I had to be, but just knowing that I couldn't go if I wanted to has driven me crazy at times.

Our birds have been such frequent, almost constant visitors this week and have drained the sunflower seed feeders dry many times.  When Ray wasn't refilling the feeders, he was shoveling and de-icing the driveway, which he had to clear 3 times this week just so it wouldn't freeze overnight.

So here are photos of our wee--

This photo makes me think of how Bob Ross, the painter, used to paint "happy little trees."  All of these looked like they had been touched with a brush full of white paint to edge their upper surfaces:

Interesting effect--snow through the blinds:
