Photos of our Flooding
Here are photos of the road around here. Some are so flooded that people were trapped on bridges and had to be rescued. Farmer's fields are all under water and many roads that we use every day are closed because of the high water over the road. Also a photo of the neighbor's tree & treehouse down and of a cool abandoned church nearby.

No Milk Today!
Ray & I went back in time on Saturday and drove on a beautiful stretch of road over the mountains to get to Franklin where we attended a Herman's Hermits concert! Peter Noone was amazing. Herman's Hermits was not one of my favorite groups when I was younger--I was a bit young for them--but I did like them. My favorite memories of the Hermits is from when Ray & I would go on any trips with Katie & Matthew when THEY were younger and Ray would play his mix tape over and over again. Katie & Matt heard Herman's Hermits songs so much that they began singing along and knew all the words. They even started requesting the tape when we traveled. And "No Milk Today" was one of their favorites.
Saturday night, they did "No Milk Today", "Silhouettes", "Can't you Hear my Heartbeat", "I'm into Something Good", "Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter", "There's A Kind of Hush", "Listen People", "The End of the World", and, of course, I'm Henry VIII, I Am."
Peter Noone's voice is even better today at age than it was at age 15 when he began the group. He also did amazing and hilarious impersonations of hits from Johnny Cash, David Cassidy, and my favorite, Mick Jagger's "Start Me Up." Peter Noone's energy on stage was incredible. And he was so funny and sweet in his interactions with the audience, especially one little girl named Lily.
We had a great time. The following are quick clips from some of the songs he performed. And yes, I know that the videos are lousy--I didn't know how to zoom my phone camera until today.. ... :-( But still fun to hear some old favorites.

I had the best weekend!
Got to see both my girls and had such a great time at Katie’s Bridal
Shower. She had requested a “Halloween”
shower, so Laura and I got to work. I
think we succeeded as everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. Katie looked so happy and beautiful.
Katie & Russ just moved into their new home, and it is just perfect. So pretty. I’m so happy for them. Katie, Laura, and I spent last night in the Emory Conference Center Hotel where room service was the first order of the evening. Lots of fun and laughing. Laura will find out some time this week whether she’s having a girl or boy, so we just had an exciting weekend in all ways.
Before we left for Atlanta, I had a special visitor—a lovely White Squirrel who looked right at me and was so cute. This area is famous for these white squirrels and they are not albino squirrels. We had a lot of rain while we were gone. A neighbors huge tree fell over the creek with its treehouse still attached. The gravel road that runs along the side of our property has a creek running across it. Flooding all around our area and the French Broad River hasn’t even crested yet and we are under a flood watch until Wednesday evening. AND more rain is on its way.
