Preparing for Home September 11, 2011

I must say how very nice it is not to be running around with so much to see and do anymore. At least for a while. And it is VERY nice to be back home where I know where things are. And if I don’t have something, I know where to go to get it. And how things work. Just simple things like our insurance and setting up utilities. The steps are written in Americanese. And believe me, there is such a thing.

Now that we are home, there are things to do—lots, as a matter of fact—in setting up the new place. But for some reason, it all seems much more low-stress now.

Drove over to visit my parents this morning with Purple Haze playing on the radio, and suddenly, it was like I was a teenager again. Going back to those times all over again. Good visit with Mother and Daddy. Now to pack up our things and get ready to move tomorrow. Finally—yay!!!

Buildings of New York

The Dakota where John and Yoko lived; secret FBI building; Chelsea Market; “melting” building; strange and very interesting parking solution.
