Sadly, I felt even worse today until Ray found one of his super decongestant pills. Now I think I just may live after all. I think the problem is this apartment. When we walked in, we found a charming apartment and everything seemed very clean, but there was a distinct whiff of moldy smell at times.
The first night as I lay down to sleep, I asked Ray , "Do you smell a moldy, mildewy smell?" Of course, he said no. Well, after that I would only get whiffs of it occasionally. (A little background info here: I am TERRIBLY allergic to mold and mildew. Have been taking allergy shots for it in the states for over 20 years, right up until I came over here. Haven't had a real attack in quite awhile, but yes it feels like this--like I am drowning and can't take a full breath.)
So, when Ray woke up this morning, he finally admitted that HE, who also has allergies to it though not as bad as I do, is feeling the effects of the mold. So he went in search of it with cleaner in hand and found mold around all the windows and doors, especailly in the floors. Hopefully, he has eradicated most of it and we can both breathe more freely.
Doesn't help that the pollen is high also, but I would rather keep the windows open and get fresh, pollenated air than stay closed up with the moldy smell. Now that I have some of Ray's magic pills in me, I am feeling a bit better and hopefully will sleep better tonight.
What upsets me is that I had a whole lovely tour of the Royal Mile closes set up for myself for today, but I guess I stil have a few days left here. And we will be back in September--though I don't know how much I am looking forward to coming back to this lovely but moldy apartment now. : (
